Whipple Auction & Realty Celebrates 40th Anniversary!!

Whipple Auction & Realty

Whipple is celebrating 40 years of proudly serving the families of Stark and surrounding counties. Come help us celebrate!! Since 1975... Whipple Auction & Realty has been serving Stark and surrounding county families with their auction & real estate needs.

Our foundation was laid by Joe W. Marino Sr. who recently celebrated his 93rd birthday on January 12th. He is still active as a consultant and auctioneer, and still comes into the office to "crack the whip" to make sure that his customers, clients, friends and their families are receiving the highest level of service he has instilled in his associates. Joe started the firm in 1975 along with his wife and business partner Ruth and their 4 sons, Joe Jr, Jim, Scott and Tom. Already having a very successful barber and beauty salon and drive-in restaurant businesses he would drive the circuit to call on clients in his "spare time" and conducted auctions on his days off and evenings. Their office was and is located on part of the old Whipple Farm at 1147 Whipple Ave NW, Canton, OH.

"Ours is truly a family business.", says Joe Jr. Along with his brothers and wife Joanne, his 3 sons Joey, John and Jesse, his daughter Jennifer, Tom's son Anthony, Tom's daughter-in-law Jennie, and Scott's wife Kelly all work in the firm. Over the years, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws have worked in various aspects of the businesses. Jennie Marino is title agent and attorney for Whipple Title Agency, an affiliate firm.

In 1985 the family opened the Lakeshore Auction Center at Meyers Lake in order to provide off site auctions for their clients, the same year they started Whipple Associates a sister company that provides real estate appraisals and home inspections for the area. We have seen and implemented many changes in our business and services over the years. Our auctioneers are bonded, insured and graduates of the Certified Auctioneers Institute, Indiana University. We are now conducting auctions online and look forward to the requirements and needs of our clients for the next 40 years. As to what lies ahead, Mr. Marino believes that "those companies that practice the basics of excellent customer service while embracing new technologies and new ideas will continue to grow."

"We were built on an uncompromising commitment to provide the highest level of professionalism, service and integrity to our clients while subscribing to a set of essential core values. This year of celebration will be marked with celebratory events and we look forward to seeing and visiting with all our clients, associates and friends."
